HerrSchneider (alias SchneidersBuero) started his company selling hardware for electronic music around 1999.

Since then, a lot of experienced musicians have come to understand that not just software can be the tool for creative work, and they often re-bought real synthesizers and hardware sequencers to experiment with sounds and noises for their production. Modular synthesis, real analog synthesizers, and experimental hardware units are the core of his catalog of mostly independent small manufacturers from all over the world.

Together with Daniel Miller (Mr. Mute), HerrSchneider designed the “Karussell,” a workshop furniture that can be seen as a modular musical instrument itself: It contains six smaller modular systems in sync to let visitors learn about the hardware while making sounds and music themselves and with each other.
