James Holden & Camilo Tirado, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe
Parallel to Loop, Ableton is teaming up with Berlin-based CTM – Festival for Adventurous Music and Art to present a series of nighttime concerts. Friday’s opening concert will take place at Babylon cinema.
Holden's performance celebrates the work and influence of minimalist composer Terry Riley, a towering figure in comtemporary music and pioneer of the use of technology in music making. Using his own new technologies, including specially built chaotic sequencers, synthesisers and percussion, Holden teams up with tabla player Camilo Tirado to pay homage to Riley with the performance of a composition influenced by his work.
Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe is an artist and composer that works with voice in the realm of spontaneous music often under the moniker of Lichens. Performing live, Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe creates a transfixing experience, mutating and extending his wordless vocals over drones of guitar and modular synth, and percussion.
