If you depend on your creativity, then the most valuable piece of equipment you have isn’t your computer, drum machine, or software—it is your capacity to harness the power of your creative mind.
Harmonizing and directing consciousness is a primary factor in achieving flow states, breaking through creative blocks, radical ideation, problem solving, and honing technical skills through applied focus. In this participatory workshop, led by artist, mindfulness trainer, and yoga teacher Phoebe Kiddo, we will explore the physiology of creativity and the psychology of making.
Through discussion, practice, and theory, we will investigate the power of mind in the creative process and learn how to maximize it for the benefit of your work. By identifying various stages of the music making process and the neural networks involved, we will learn how to activate and strengthen essential creative skills through simple applied meditation techniques.
