Not quite instruments: making music from simple machines*

Hosted by Money Mark

Welcome to Money Mark's analog haven, where we’ll be playing with electricity. Under the guidance of the Beastie Boys' keyboard player, we’ll explore methods of deriving complex results from simple sources and finding unconventional uses for machines that make sounds which aren’t quite music – yet.

Using basic tools such as portable transistor radios and sine wave generators from the 1960s, Mark will bring his years of studio, stage and workshop experience to show you how to extract musical sounds from ordinary, unmusical objects. This workshop is geared toward tinkerers and thinkers who believe that less is more.
