Marijke Jorritsma uses feminist design methodologies to create interfaces that control robots in space and to make non-traditional electronic instruments.
Alongside pursuing a Masters of Science at NYU’s Integrated Digital Media program, she is doing user experience and interaction design at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Her work there includes designing for augmented reality applications that aid in spacecraft engineering and the exploration of Mars. Off lab Marijke is developing a theoretical framework to guide designers during times of paradigmatic technology shifts and making browser based music tools. Marijke has a background in education, electronic music production and performance, and experimental film. She is currently based in Los Angeles and New York.
