Mitya

Mitya Burmistrov is a Russian vocalist and musician who has performed under the nickname Masta Mic and also simply, Mitya.

As Masta Mic, Mitya made his first appearance in 2008, winning the Russian beatbox championship at the Splash'08 festival. He was among the first on the Russian beatbox scene to use live looping technology and effects to layer his voice and increases the variety of textures and sounds in his tracks.

Over the past few years, Mitya traversed genres to create the space-pop project called MITYA, influenced by 60's and 70's psychedelia and charchterized by fuzzy guitars, endless delays and tape recorded drums. Currently, Mitya is working on an album which is based on ancient sounds and melodies he recorded during his trip to the Tatar villages in the Siberian region of Russia.
