Saturday 05 Nov 16:15 — 18:15
Sunday 06 Nov 17:30 — 19:30
With Chagall, Adam Stark and Kelly Snook
Born from founder Imogen Heap’s desire to control music in a way that felt more natural than what conventional music technologies offered, mi.mu gloves have developed into a comprehensive gestural instrument that allows for an innate connection between musician and software.
In this workshop, you will learn about the technology behind the mi.mu gloves and the custom software for connecting gesture to music. Working in small groups, you will be given a pair of gloves per group and example projects to play with. Members of the mi.mu team will help you to experiment with the gloves, adding your own mappings to music software and creating new connections betwen gesture and sound.
No experience is necessary. You’ll only need a laptop with Mac OS X, Live 9.6 or higher and headphones.
Due to the small group format of these events, workshops will require pre-registration. Registrations will take place in October 2016. Each Loop ticket holder will be able to register for one workshop.
