Francis Preve

Synth guru, sound designer and DJ Francis Preve is the head of sound and instrument library Symplesound.

With a career that includes designing sounds for Ableton, Roland and Korg, plus serving as Technology Editor for Beatportal.com, Preve has carved a niche as one of the tech industry's most in-demand sound designers. His work as a college professor in Austin, Texas, provides additional insight into how musicians of all skill levels interface with synthesizers, while his career as a technology journalist gives him a deeper appreciation of great product design and realisation.

Over the years, Preve's music output has included high-profile remixes for Sander Kleinenberg and Dave Seaman, and original composition collaborations, like "Yin/Yang" with Wolfgang Gartner and "Get Down" with John Acquaviva & Olivier Giacomotto. Preve recently launched his own imprint, Academik Records, as well as Symplesound, where the focus is on creating intuitive instruments and presets.
