Melissa Uye-Parker is a British songwriter, performer and educator based in London.
Using her experience collaborating with the likes of Rae & Christian and Yesking, Uye-Parker began working on projects with young people in youth centres in and around Manchester. For the past 5 years, she has worked as a Music teacher in West London, leading a focus on Music Technology, with her school being the first in the UK to implement Ableton’s Push initiative.
Recently completing an MSc in the Psychology of Education at University College London, Uye-Parker became concerned with the inconsistency of technology integration in Music education. Believing that professional development is critical for the building of skills in non-specialist educators, she is developing a mentoring programme that supports technology integration in the music classroom.
