Tokyo based artist Sapphire Slows is a solo producer and performer.
She began producing and recording music in her bedroom in 2011, mainly using vintage Casio keyboards and Ableton Live. She was discovered by underground LA label Not Not Fun and Tokyo-based imprint Big Love. Her official debut album Allegoria was released in 2014, and was selected as one of the best albums of the year by Crack Magazine, Mike Paradinas (Planet Mu) and Japan Times.
Variously inspired by dark minimal, experimental electronic, ghostly ambient, smoky dub and weird pop sounds, Sapphire Slows is now a notable name in Tokyo’s electronic music scene, and she regularly tours North America, Europe and China.
