From Cut-Ups to Community – workshop on experimental music and intercultural communication

Give Something Back to Berlin is a community-led initiative, providing new-comers to the city, many of whom are refugees, access to free music tuition in a supportive group setting, connecting all musicians regardless of their legal status and access to mainstream opportunities.

At Loop, GSBTB’s teachers and students invite you to see and hear what happens when new musical friendships from half-way across the world shake music-makers out of their habits and upend their preconceptions. Taking influence from our migrant communities, Berlin’s creative scene, and over a century’s worth of avant-garde thought and technique, this three-hour workshop looks beyond individualistic music making practices and towards more open, communal models.
