Hit the Edit Button: Creating Max for Live Devices

Making your own Max for Live device can add layers of possibility to the creative process, but to many, the programming aspect is daunting, and it can be hard to move beyond using other people’s devices.

This workshop will help you overcome those feelings of trepidation. We’ll work with Max for Live to create our own devices, starting with simple audio effects, and ending with generative control devices for Live sets. From hitting the Edit Button to ‘borrowing’ shortcuts from example programs, you’ll discover tips, tricks and learning resources to demystify the process – and add another string to your M4L bow.

No experience is necessary to take part in this workshop. You’ll need to bring a laptop and headphones, along with an active Live 9 Suite and Max for Live Building Tools Pack installed.

Workshops are for small groups and require pre-registration. Workshops are only accessible if you have a ticket which includes access to the Workshops and Studio Sessions program – for information, check the FAQ. Registration is now open.
