Western music puts a high value on sound quality and audio fidelity – perhaps even higher than on artistic expression itself. Taking this into account, consciously choosing to reduce sound quality can become a subversive artistic strategy in itself.
This all-analogue-anti-technology-recording-workshop with Stereo Total will explore the possibilities of not using the latest innovations. Making use of outdated recording devices from the gutters of technological history, the Berlin duo will try to come up with very simple recording solutions that afford maximum expression at minimum cost.
