Angelica Tavella is an Italian-American songwriter, sound artist and music technologist.
Having moved from northern Italy to the San Francisco Bay Area as a child, she spent her time composing music and experimenting with sound. She studied copyright law and music technology at the University of California, Berkeley, during which time she created the quarterly music crawl Oakland Drops Beats, and co-founded OIM Records.
Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2014, Tavella has focused on touring and releasing records with the band TV Heads, and under her own moniker, Tavella. She currently organizes North American events for Ableton and is a member of the Programming Team for the Loop Summit.
At Loop, she’ll be collaborating with Alexia Riner on Perimeter, an interactive audio installation spread throughout Loop’s Hollywood campus, which features a musical playlist influenced by geographic boundaries and borders.
