London-based South African Esa Williams is a musical polymath, producer and DJ.
Esa Williams has a developed an expansive musical identity as a DJ and producer, with an evolving output that spans early productions on his own Rememory Music label to collaborations with Auntie Flo and the Highlife World Series. A regular fixture of many of the best underground parties, venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, Williams has also carved out a niche curating educational programs focusing on electronic music in Cuba, Brazil and East and South Africa.
Drawing on his experience in Kenya hosting music production workshops, Esa will host a Studio Session on using samples of instrument from Africa to create polyrhythms. He’ll also be hosting an Improv Session in which he and Loop attendees use traditional instruments in combination with studio workflows mainly used in electronic music.
