Iranian-born composer, ethnomusicologist, and inventor of musical instruments, Nima Fakhrara is the founder of Zoo Creatives, with studios in Los Angeles and New York City.
Nima’s first experience with music was listening to his uncle play the santour. He went on to master that instrument and became well-versed in Persian classical music. After moving to the United States, Nima obtained his degree in composition studies from California State University.
Classically trained in both traditional western and non-western sounds, Nima often samples instruments or invents new ones, to bring to life the textures and timbres in his mind. He has composed music for a range of acclaimed video games, including Sony PlayStation’s Detroit: Become Human and Resident Evil: Revelations 2, as well as for international feature films.
At Loop, Nima Fakhrara will host a workshop in collaboration with Spitfire Audio to explore orchestral composition for video games.
