dublab: live stream (Sunday)

dublab is a non-profit radio station in Los Angeles dedicated to the growth of music, arts and culture.

So much music has been made on the streets of Hollywood, both by legendary artists in world-famous studios, and thousands of session players, engineers, sound designers, writers and beatmakers in the network of independent studios and venues that has existed since the 1950s. In countless collectives and long-gone scenes from all styles of music, music-makers have worked together in and around these streets to create sounds that say something about who they are, where they’ve been and where they’re going.

Since its foundation in 1999, dublab has been working to map this shifting terrain. dublab programs have described the contours of Los Angeles’ sprawling musical life, and shared these stories with an ever-growing international audience. It’s fitting, then, that we’ve invited dublab to provide the soundtrack to your afternoons at Loop’s LA edition. From our rooftop stage at Montalbán Theatre, dublab will daily present four hours of free-form radio, including live performances, DJ sets, interviews and discussions. For summit attendees, it’s an alternate look at our participants, framed by dublab presenters’ deep knowledge of LA’s musical life, past and present. At the same time, the live stream offers our international online audience a window onto the world of Loop, its people, events and ideas.
