Cory Metcalf is an interactive media and sound artist, and head of Sales and Support at Cycling '74.
Metcalf earned an MFA in Emergent Digital Practices from the University of Denver, where he also taught as an adjunct faculty member. His courses covered a variety of new media subjects, including physical computing and creative coding, to capstone installation classes.
His interests range from bio-media to the performance of extended vocal and instrumental noise-music, and his work explores the intersection of human-plant interaction, responsive installation environments, novel encryption systems and Virtual Reality. Cory is also co-founder of NoiseFold – an art duo whose work centers around the real-time performance of generative animation.
At Loop, Cory will join Cycling '74 educator Gregory Taylor in a Workshop introducing sequencing in Max for Live. Together, they will demonstrate how to create bespoke sequencers that stay in time with a Live set. Attendees will come away from the Workshop with their own Max sequencer that they can immediately use and customize.
