Dungeon Acid is the stage name of Jean-Louis Huhta – a DJ, musician and multimedia artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Huhta’s early influences were punk, Chicago acid and Detroit techno. A prominent figure in Swedish subculture, he was a member of the Lucky People Center collective, The Skull Defekts, and the genre-defining crust punk band Anti Cimex.
Jean-Louis studied at the Electronic Music Studios EMS in Stockholm and Sound Art at the Stockholms dramatiska högskola (StDK). He specializes in electronic music, percussion, improvisation and experimental modular synth performances. Since 2010, he has produced and performed techno and acid under the name Dungeon Acid.
He has also worked with 1+1=3, a collective using electroencephalography equipment to record brain activity for use as a creative tool in music performance and composition.
At Loop, he’ll host an intimate Studio Session in which he’ll share strategies for working with modular synths he’s learned over the course of the last ten years. Dungeon Acid will perform during the Loop Night Program at Tresor on Saturday, April 25.
