Felicity Mangan is an Australian sound artist and composer based in Berlin, Germany.
Mangan creates immersive performances and installations using found sounds and field recordings with positional audio and bespoke speaker setups. In 2019, she created Stereo’frog’ic, a multi-directional sound piece composed using field recordings of frogs, insects and other animals native to Australia.
Felicity has presented projects in spaces throughout Europe, including Statens Museum for Kunst in Denmark, Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin and Künstlerhaus Bremen. She has also worked as part of the collaborative duos Native Instrument and Plants and Animalia.
For Loop this year, Felicity has recorded and processed a sample pack that captures the atmosphere of Silent Green’s venues and spaces. These sounds will be used as the basis for Start Here, a 12-hour sample flipping challenge open to all, culminating in a Discussion and playback session between Loop participants Andrew Huang, A.Fruit and Zuli.
