Lia Mice is a multidisciplinary artist who uses technology to explore relationships between musical instruments and embodied performance.
Mice’s work spans live performance, composition, instrument design, and installation, as well as academic writing. She has been a resident artist at international institutions, including China Conservatory of Music, Ponta Da Sol Madeira, Leeds International Festival, and Goldsmith’s University.
Lia’s musical instruments have been exhibited and performed at acclaimed events and venues such as Ars Electronica, The Tate Modern, The Barbican, the V&A Museum and the Museum of Arts and Design. As a digital instrument designer and researcher, she has presented her work at IRCAM Forum, Computer Music Interdisciplinary Research and Technology in Music Performance.
Lia is an advocate for accessible design and is herself partially-sighted. Her latest album, The Sampler As A Time Machine, is out on Optimo Music.
