Rob Ramirez is a performance artist, DJ, programmer and the lead Jitter engineer at Cycling '74 based in Brooklyn, New York.
Holding an M.S. in Integrated Digital Media, Rob has performed and exhibited at a range of acclaimed art institutions, such as the SAT in Montréal and the Borusan Contemporary in Istanbul, as well as festivals including Fusebox in Austin and Push in Vancouver.
Throughout his career, he’s collaborated with multidisciplinary artists Phil Soltanoff, Joe Diebes, Kurt Hentschlager and numerous others. In his work for Cycling '74, he recently released the GL3 OpenGL graphics engine for Max 8.
At Loop, Ramirez will give a presentation with Cycling '74 developer Tom Hall on the Jitter and GL3 graphics engine in Max and Max for Live. The talk will showcase how to generate live visuals and control them with audio to create sophisticated automated workflows.
