Code of Conduct

At Loop, we want to create an environment where every participant feels safe and welcome. In order to make clear what is expected, everyone participating in our #LoopAtHome Music-Making Weekend in any capacity (including organizers and invited participants) should read and observe the following Code of Conduct.

The Short Version

Loop is dedicated to providing a friendly and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender and gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, age, beliefs, or cultural background. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Inappropriate sexual language and imagery is not welcome on any online platforms, including Facebook, Metapop, Twitter, and all other third-party platforms where Loop takes place. Participants violating these rules can be sanctioned or expelled from participation on these online Loop platforms.

If you experience harassment or are in need of assistance of any kind, please get in touch with the admin of the channel.

The Long Version

Loop is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or cultural background. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Inappropriate sexual language and imagery is not welcome on any online platforms where Loop takes place, including Facebook, Metapop, Twitter and all other third-party platforms where Loop takes place. Participants violating these rules can be sanctioned or expelled from participation on these online Loop platforms.

Harassment includes harmful or prejudicial verbal or written comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, or cultural background; sexual or violent images in our shared digital spaces; deliberate intimidation; online stalking; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of streamed presentations or other digital events; inappropriate direct messaging; and unwelcome sexual attention.

Exception: Discussion, imagery, or other multimedia material related to sex, pornography, discriminatory language, or similar is acceptable if it meets all of the following criteria:

  1. It is necessary to the topic of discussion or artistic performance and no alternative exists.
  2. It is presented in a respectful manner.
  3. The organizers have specifically granted permission.
  4. Guests are warned in advance and respectfully given ample warning and opportunity not to join beforehand.

This exception specifically does not allow use of gratuitous sexual images as attention-getting devices or unnecessary examples.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior by our online moderators are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the Loop organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from Loop’s online platforms and/or chatrooms. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the admin of the channel immediately.

We expect participants to follow these rules while attending or participating in all Loop events, both online and offline.
